HOCKEY PUCKS or Penis’s

“The Peter Principle”
~~~  no no   sorry ~~ this will not be another testament
to the never ending quest  for  sex -on - demand..
btw   what ever happened  to   ’salt peter’?
in my memory…this was   a potion  to ‘keep it in your pants’
[also  used to make gun powder?]
years back….men did not have the problems they have today..
[why?]
in fact, history will bear me out….men seemed to be in need of
something  that would  retard  the sex
drive…ok   so thats my
homage to the little blue pill…
My apology  to Laurence J. Peter…the author of
“The Peter Principle”
He  argued  “that people tend to be elevated
to the level of their personal incompetence…”
Sadly I concur  and yet I understand…that we as humans are
incredibly complex creatures and no one of us
think alike…
We all start off believing  in our Free Will
and yet
given the physical factors…schools, books, tapes,
music, and the environment we live in, lead  to much
of our  behavior  each day..whether good or bad..
Religion  plays a role..it would be senseless to
allow the faithful  [and by that I mean
those few folks that make the ritual  trek to church]
to go home believing  that  their  own free will to do good..
that it was not in play!
They preach  it is imperative to believe that  we can improve
ourselves by ‘willing’ to do so.
We say  things like
“There but for the Grace of God, go  I…”
does this mean   that God plays favorites?
and everyone   walking around  without an
affliction  is a ‘chosen one’
nah!!
cant be
talk to me!!  kate
One Response to “HOCKEY PUCKS or Penis’s”
  1. Billy Pilgrim Says:
    Dear Kate,
    I saw a very interesting video on youtube called
    “the four horsemen”. It’s a conversation between 4 authors whose works have angered the religious right (christian, jewish, and muslim). In it Christopher Hitchens, author of “God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything” says in response to the idea that his words have offended the faithful, that we should all be offended by the general proposition that without ‘belief’, we have no way to gauge right and wrong.
    I would love if you watched it and gave your thoughtful review.
    Thank you,
