sorry, your letter on being a ’shopaholic’ just screamed for that title!
My first thoughts were O. C. D. [obsessive compulsive disease].
This is a personality disorder…which affects social skills and quality of life. You need behaviour modification treatment therapy..
If you cant afford this and
God knows you could not afford fortune cookies at this point…
you have to ask yourself these questions,
Is it a quick fix for the blahs?
Are your purchases un-used or hidden?
Are you feeling guillty about this behaviour?
Would your life be richer if you shopped less?
You are spending more than you can afford, this we know.
There is a good book called “I Shop therfore I AM!”
[finding your place in the world in a search for yourself]
by April Bensen, Phd.
It seems you are defining yourself by this obsession for ‘things’.
Remember this ” You can NEVER get enough - of what you don’t need” A. B., Phd
[Maybe go to the Library and check out this book..before investing in Therapy~~~ Kate
