Fair-tale ending?
This is in response to Reatta:
[afraid to 'try again']
I am sorry to have to tell you that the road to true love is never as rosy as Hollywood portrays. Problems in life just don’t disappear as the characters kiss and the credits roll.
Relationships are never that ‘easy’. Life always get’s in the way, people are not one-dimensional, it’s not all about the Friday nite date and/or picnics in the park on Sundays..
In reality, 90% of our lives are unceremonious…we function to show up at work, so as to make the rent, pay the bills, shop, eat, and walk the dog.
This elusive thing called ‘love’, finding a soul mate is not without complications. You’ve been “single and not so happy” and yet you are afraid to throw yourself into the fray again, for fear of rejection…but there is no other way…to find someone who wants pretty much what you want out of life..
Believe it or not there is someone out there for you. You need to be armed this time with the knowledge that the fleeting euphoria that brings people together..that time of discovery and newness, when things are just ’superb’ is just that …’fleeting’ and this is when you see what each of you are made of..dealing with the real world and still keeping that commitment to each other that makes this life pleasurable. When it makes you happy to make him/her happy your half-way home. love kate
I think your Mom is trying to save you some heart break here although I don’t agree with her methods,
