THIS WAR IS COSTING US TOO MANY LIVES, and the infrastructure back home is falling apart - Folks losing their homes, Healthcare below par, schools not being able to draw quality people to their pay rolls, the economy [gas prices, home heating oil, food etc]  and yet George Bush refuses to acknowledge that this WAR IS COSTING US $5000 A SECOND. 

These Town Hall meetings between McCain and Obama will be eye- opening  hopefully and promise to be exciting  noting that, both men are articulate and respectful.

Complex issues, their  views on Foreign and domestic policies will be worth the admission.

B. Obama wants to open the door for discussion with Iran,

McCain  would advise against that.

doesn’t he see that they are defiant, and an on going threat ??

A MOMENT OF SILENCE

along with a great deal of pride for America.

‘We’ve come a long way,baby’   has never rung so true.

Coming from the [FDR] –Roosevelt era 1933-1945  [the Great Depression years] nothing great about it,  the death of Pres. Roosevelt brought to the oval office a much needed V.P.  Harry S. Truman …living thru WW2 to the disgraceful McCarthy era, watching the bravery and resolve of Rosa Parks,  and living the angst of every American who was sucked into the Viet Nam war…to the cultural education brought to light with  the feminist movement - giving women the much needed boost to earn the same wages as their male counterparts.

To our great shame in allowing the KKK  [white supremacist group] to exist.

There tucked under their asinine pointed white sheets, faces hidden for fear of being recognized…were raging, impotent, violent, ignorant, incestuous morons burning crosses and hanging blacks.

[btw-- they still exist in great numbers - most within the republican party hiding behind the flag]

Feeling the shock and awe of seeing great men like John F. Kennedy and  Martin Luther King struck down in their prime.

We are at the top of our game today being allowed to choose either a woman or an African American to the white house.

God be praised for the enlightenment.

The twentieth century has opened the door to so many concepts,

but the operative words here are ‘opened the door’…things up for discussion include gay marriages, this is threatening to some people’s identity, but we are making head way there, the audacity of some frightened mindless individuals that would try to roll back Roe vs Wade, taking away a woman’s  right to choose, the environment [ pros and cons of global warming,] our pitiful  economy, so chaotic under the present administration that we are in danger of losing everything we value, people are losing their homes to foreclosures, GM is on the verge of firing thousands of people with their plans to convert their factories to producing smaller [hybrid] vehicles,

Americans are afraid to fill their back yard pools [water consumption],

take a much needed summer get away [cannot afford the gas],

most of us will not be turning on our a/c [electricity thru the roof]

and certainly last but never least…bringing home our troops from an ill conceived war.

Mr. Obama has his work cut out for him, I am sure this is what he means by AMERICA NEEDS CHANGE, on so many fronts.

Ready for some Good News?? 

 A few years ago,   Angel   wrote me from the Philippines. She told me of her life at home with her family and her best girl friends.

Over a 6 month period, we became close confidantes.

Soon I started recieving  letters from Richard [in the military]…

requesting Angels email. 

I gave his addy to Angel, thought that

 the safest and securest way to go,

and they began a courtship thru the mails.

Long Lovely story short,

when he got out of service, he visited Angel and her family twice, asked her Dad for her hand, became engaged, took like 6 mos to get a visa, to bring her here to the good ole U. S. A.  

They first married in the Philippines and today

they are settled in the states.

the rest is history ;

and this is yesterdays email from Angel-

May 15 – Danielle ——-was born at 8:54am at 20” long

 weighing 7lbs and 8 oz.

I have to go now…need to feed Danielle,

she is such a beautiful baby.  A.

when we got back from our honeymoon.. helping my Paul unpack… I realized he had sexier undies than me…no boxers etal….actually Victoria’s Secret stuff…thinking they were for me…I did not mention it…

it is like 2 weeks later…he has not mentioned it…and last nite he came to bed with a black lace teddy….seriously!

I turned over and tried to pretend this was not happening…but..he paraded all through the bedroom/kitchen to the frig..
