8 Reasons to NOT Feel Insecure About Your Vagina

8 Reasons to NOT Feel Insecure About Your Vagina

No two vaginas are the same. They come in different shapes and sizes, so it’s no wonder we grow up wondering if our vagina is “normal”. Let me make this very clear: there’s nothing wrong with your vagina.

If you’re you’re seeking some reassurance, here are a few reasons why you should not feel insecure about your vagina. (Because your vagina is amazing.)

All vaginas look different.

No two people are the same, so you can’t expect every (or any) vagina to be identical. Some women have a vagina opening that looks wider at the top. Some have short labia, while others have longer labia. The point is they aren’t designed to look the same and perhaps that’s a good thing. Once you realize that there’s no such thing as a“perfect vagina then you’ll quickly come to appreciate yours.

Labias vary in color.

Some women have pink labia, others might have a brown/purplish labia. In fact, it’s quite common for the color of the skin around the vagina to be darker than the rest of your body, so there’s no need to panic.

And size.

Whether we’re talking labia majora or labia minora, there is no normal look. The minora (inner labia) might be longer than the majora (outer labia), or vice versa. Basically, your labia looks the way it should. Every vagina is unique, so learn to love yours.

There’s nothing wrong with pubic hair.

If you prefer being completely bare down there, then that’s fine. If you prefer keeping some (or all the) hair, that’s also fine. Honestly, it’s your vagina and you can groom it however you want.

Ingrown hairs happen to all of us.

Sometimes, it seems like it doesn’t matter if you wax, shave or do nothing at all – ingrown hairs still have a way of cropping up to say hello. They can be painful and unsightly. And they’re very common. Almost every woman has experienced ingrown hairs at some point and some have to deal with them regularly. It really doesn’t make your vagina any less amazing though.

Your discharge is probably normal.

Your discharge can change throughout the month and it can be slightly worrying if it’s accompanied by burning or an odd odor. In that case, it could be an infection that you need to see a doctor about ASAP. Before you start panicking though, a change in discharge doesn’t always point to an infection. A lot of the time it’s completely normal to have a change in consistency and it can be caused by various factors such as birth control and diet, so there’s often need to freak out.

Your vagina isn’t supposed to smell like roses.

Contrary to what some people think, your vagina isn’t going to smell like flowers. It has its own unique scent that changes throughout your menstrual cycle. As long as there isn’t a strong fishy odor down there then there’s no need to worry. At different times of the month, your natural smell might seem stronger than usual but that’s not a bad thing. Just like the unique color and appearance of your vagina, you can embrace your personal scent as well.

Your vagina is incredible.

Let’s face it, vaginas are amazing and we wouldn’t be here without them. A vagina can expand to let a baby through which is an incredible thing. Any partner worth having in your life will love your vagina. If anyone ever makes you feel insecure about your lady parts then you should say bye like now because your vagina is incredible. And that’s the truth.
